Political insight of a boy

Freedom of speech is great, but it’s unacceptable that one side uses this freedom to the fullest and the other side is told to shut up.
We’re having local elections soon and I’m glad my town doesn’t have to deal with the PVV. The party of Geert Wilders.
You know, that socalled politician who looks like his hair suffered too much bleach.
Yesterday I watched with my son a repeat of a TV program in which one of the representatives of the party was free to explain the plans of the party.
At the table also a well experienced politician. She knows the ins and out of the rules and regulations both of the national and local organisations.
It was interesting that the man from the PVV had plenty of ideas to surpress the muslim community and that each time the discussion was kept to the true content of his statement.
So no discussion this time about discrimination, but about the way he thought he would be able to implement his plans.
Over and over it was clear he didn’t know the law, wasn’t aware of the consequences of his decisions and that he had no insight whatsoever in finances.
The arrogance on his face grew the more it was clear that in fact he had nothing to tell.
The statements he made were about telling people how to live and it was sad to see that he didn’t come any further than taking the freedom of people away. The freedom of religion, the freedom to be where people want to be, the freedom to go to school where people want, etc etc
I didn’t say much, because I thought that my son should make up his own mind.
But I was glad when he started to laugh and said that he’d heard better plans to improve society when he was at school than from this man.
What touched me was that he then said:
“Mom, I can’t believe that so many people are not able to see that these party wants to create an internal war at our country.
I’m afraid of the stupidity of the people who elect this party and even more of those who represent this party”
Well said, boy!

Smart boy! He could teach our politicians here in the US a thing or two, I think.
