Time for hot chocolate

It’s time for hot chocolate.
The nights are getting colder.
Last night the moon was very sharp, the stars could be seen well, and the sky was dark.
I live those nights, as people tend to stay inside and it’s relatively silent at the lake.
This summer and autumn it seemed to be noisier at night. One could hear traffic, plains still flying at three in the night, and even nature was not really at rest as it was the last years.
It makes my inner urge to move elsewhere even stronger.
So I subscribed to an emailservice that brings vacancies in my inbox.
It’s not the best time, with the recession and all, but when we’re not taking action we’ll never move to Scotland.
We’ve lived in this house for 25 years and I thought we’d grow old here.
But the neighbourhood changed, we changed, and the political situation changed.
What’s still the same is the turn of times.
The dark days have changed our daily routines.
In the morning the girls needs shawls, gloves, lights for their bicycles.
I can’t walk out of the house in a T-shirt to hang out the laundry.
The light is different and I feel like keeping the curtains shut the whole day to keep the warmth in.
And I remember things from when I was young and enjoyed every time of the year.
Within I haven’t changed much.
I still long for a white christmas, and hot chocolate.
