Google owns the world?

Does Google own the world?
Don’t think so.
But they act that way by copying and publicizing books without
permission of the owners of the copyrights, the editors, the libraries
and others who have more legal say over the texts and books than Google
ever asked for.
Don’t think this is something new.
They’re doing this since 2004 without informing the people concerned.
Problem is that part of the income of writers and other publicists is one immediate payment.
The other part consists of what we call here reading- or loanmoney, a
small fixed amount of money the writer, re-writer and illustrator
receive per time a book is registered as given out by libraries.
Google just didn’t care and scanned complete libraries without
anyone knowing, putting the content online, taking the income of
writers.
In fact it’s stealing ang going against the copyright laws.
Here in Europe the law states that no one is allowed to (re)publish
without the permission of the legal owners of the copyright or the
boeks themselves.
So Google violates these international laws.
(Europe is not a nation, but a continent where certain issues are organised by an organisation where most countries belong to.)
Matters haven’t been taken very serious in the past because people
couldn’t oversee that internet would become the powerful tool it is now.
Papers all over the globe have gone bancrupt, because the news was
available on internet. The whole bookprinting bussiness got a
tremendous blow, with the resulting unemployment for editors, printers,
the paperindustry, shops etc etc.
In the VS Google has been adressed on the issue and they presented a
settlement that grants the rightful owners 63% of the income Google
Books earns.
So they take 37% and an unknown amount of money because no one goes to the library to get books anymore.
Many rightful owners of the books don’t agree.
The main problem is that by agreeing with the settlement Google gets
rights that can’t be owned in Europe. It means that they can republish
books and other material without permission of the rightful owner.
In case you think this doesn’t concern you and you don’t care:
It also means Google can take whatever it wants and republish it in the
way they want, including your photos, your blogtexts and everything
else you leave on this earth as an outlet of your creativity.
